 Regulation 67-1602 has been amended to establish electronic payment systems as the default method of payment for temporary disability and reimbursement for expenses. The full advisory and text of the regulation may be accessed here

Workers’ Compensation In South Carolina

Workers’ compensation laws are designed to provide a satisfactory means of handling occupational disabilities. A 20th century development in North America, workers’ compensation laws evolved as the economy became more industrial and less agricultural.

Gary Cannon

Gary M. Cannon was appointed Executive Director of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission in March 2009. Mr. Cannon is responsible for the administration and operation of the four functional departments; Judicial, Claims, Insurance and Medical Services and Information Technology. The Executive Director’s Office includes the Office of the General Counsel, Human Resources, Financial Administration and Procurement.
